VMmobile R3 (Service Manager Mobile Solution)

Service Manager for Windows Phone/Notebook R3 (VMmobile R3)

1 Sep 2008

Release 3 of our mobile device solution includes many new features and improvements.

With Service Manager for Windows Phone/Notebook, an engineer while in the field, is able to use a mobile device such as a PDA or notebook computer to receive new jobs, create instant escalations by changing job status and priority, carry out part replacements, add labor/time entries, create new jobs, add new equipment, check history, log and search the fault database, complete tasks and activities for preventative maintenance, sign off on jobs, and more.

Service Manager for Windows Phone/Notebook R3 includes many new features and improvements:

  • A Timer is now available that acts as a stopwatch to help record time spent on a Job.
    1. Arrive on site and start the Timer
    2. Assign the Timer to the Job
    3. Stop the Timer when the Job is complete
    4. Apply the Start and Stop Date and Time values to a Labor line for billing and costing purposes.
  • There is a new processing option, Update Status on Receive, that will prompt you to review the Job Status and Priority as soon as you acknowledge receipt of the Job.
  • My Jobs list can be color coded so you can easily identify Jobs that have a high Priority and/or urgent Status, for example.
  • My Jobs list can be sorted in ascending or descending sequence by Date, Status, Priority, Job Number, Job Description, Site Code or Site Name.
  • There is now a quick method of displaying the Job Tree for a Job. Simply double-tap a Job when in List view.
  • Some Job Tree context menus have changed to cater for new functionality and to simplify use. You may also notice some changes to the order and inclusion of icons on the toolbar.
  • Tasks can now be added to a Job. When servicing a new piece of Equipment or an existing one that needs additional work, a new Task may be required.
  • Tasks can also be deleted.
  • The following changes have been made to the My Equipment screen:
    • You can now search for Equipment by Serial Number or Equipment Code. An Equipment Finder is provided to assist in Equipment selection.
    • If Equipment is found in the Equipment table, but is not assigned to a Job, you are able to create a new Job for that Equipment.
    • The My Equipment context menu has two new options that enable you to add Tasks and register Faults.
  • Equipment Location can now be updated.
  • Miscellaneous Equipment can be inserted into a Job. This is useful where Equipment is located on site, but that Equipment is not in the Equipment table.
  • The following My Jobs search options are now available:
    • Scheduled Time Entry - search for Jobs where the current user has been assigned, with Time Entries for the current user in the specified date range
    • Job Entered Date - search for Jobs where the current user has been assigned and the Job Date Entered is in the specified date range
    • Job Estimated Start Date - search for Jobs where the current user has been assigned and the Job Estimated Start Date is in the specified date range
  • Smart Sync also uses these options.
